| Baby Sitting | ||
Needs volunteers
for the
1st Thursday of every month. 5-6 people from 6:30-8:45 pm
They are also looking for groups to be a backup to regular babysitters in
case of scheduling conflicts.

Needs 3-5
volunteers to watch children during monthly parent meetings. Meetings:
3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Rehoboth Baptist Church
at 100 Pfeifer Ave.

Needs volunteers
for their ½ day preschool program
(7:30-11:30 Mon-Fri). Activities include painting, snack, and
playground.
Volunteers can go on a regular basis or whenever they can fit it in. Also
need regular volunteers with set-up/tear-down of classroom space
Wed and Fri @ 10:30 am (tear-down) Wed and Sat @ 8:15 pm (put up)

| School Programs | ||
Reading tutor needed for 10 year-old boy from mid June to July. Tutoring would occur about twice a week for 45-60 minutes, preferably after 5 pm.

The Truman Disability Services Office needs volunteers to take notes for disabled students in a variety of courses starting Fall 2008. Courses to be determined, and placement of volunteers determined with the volunteers’ preferences in mind.

3:15-5:15 every
day
For K-6th graders 40 students in the program Volunteers help facilitate
activities such as snacks, gym, and homework time. $5 background check and
sign in at front desk when you come in. You are not responsible for
curriculum.

Volunteers are
needed to help with reading and math every Monday-Thursday from 3-5pm.

||
Need tutors for
after school and on weekends.
Tutors needed in English, Math (algebra, geometry, trig, calculus), Spanish,
and Science. Great for organizations and clubs that specialize in these
subjects Volunteers let them know your preferred area and grade level along
with email address and phone number so parents can contact them. Can tutor
anywhere you feel comfortable (don’t have to go to their homes).

Tutors are needed
in the areas of English, Social Studies, Spanish, and Math. Students need to
be tutored either during study hall or after school. Tutors are asked to
provide their contact information and a list of available times and will be
contacted as tutors are needed.

Volunteers to help
with math enrichment for 4th, 5th (and maybe 3rd) grade levels. Available
times from 9:00 am – 2:45 pm daily during the week. Also an
after-school math enrichment group on Monday or Tuesday from 3:00 – 4:00
pm

| Elderly Care | ||
Volunteers to read,
visit, and play games with the residents Also: help with already scheduled
activities like, wash wheelchairs, wash windows, take residents for walks or
rides in their wheelchairs, teach residents about any special interests the
student might have, or hold classes for residents (cooking, travel, history,
etc).

One volunteer
needed to go to the library once or twice a week for an hour to keep it
organized and work with their tenants to maximize their library space.

Volunteers to play
games/cards, paint nails, play music, tell jokes, and just hang out with
residents
|
||
Volunteers visit
and entertain residents. Activities include calling bingo, attending social
hour, playing cards or trivia, leading exercise videos etc.
|
||
Volunteers provide
support and entertainment for terminally ill patients. Large time commitment
and hours vary from week to week. Training sessions provided.

||
| Miscellaneous | ||
Mentoring program:
student meets with one juvenile on a consistent basis. You would build a
healthy relationship with them and do fun, constructive activities of your
choice. Tutoring done in the residential treatment unit.

Need organizations
to put on special events once or twice a year involving their field (ex.
Petting zoo via agricultural organization or a Science Fair via a chemistry
organization) It can be a one hour program either Tuesday or Wednesday
evenings or a Saturday afternoon. The organization needs two weeks notice to
get PR out for the event.
Individual volunteers also needed to help shelve books. Flexible hours! |

Volunteers
needed in the afternoons from 12-4 pm.
To volunteer, student needs a short orientation. They can do this on a
Thursday or Friday afternoon Volunteer would do any of the following: walk
dogs, play with puppies, clean cages, and brush animals, etc.

Volunteers help
serve meals on the 3rd and 4th Saturdays of the month in the Mary
Immaculate Church cafeteria (716 E. Washington) Need around 10 volunteers to
begin meals at 9 am and stay until they are through serving and
cleaning up at around 1 or 1:30 pm Another wave of volunteers arrives around
11 or 11:30 am to set up the room for the serving of the meals.
