For Students:

What is the BIG Event?

The BIG Event is a day of service where the Truman community comes together to complete tasks in the Kirksville community as a way to show our gratitude for the support they give us and to unify the two communities. 

What type of tasks will I have to do?

Community members can request 2-6 students to come for 1-3 hours.

Some inside jobs they could request are:

  • washing windows
  • painting walls
  • cleaning/sweeping

Some outside jobs they could request are:

  • washing windows
  • painting
  • raking leaves
  • trimming trees/hedges
  • gardening

They can also request to have students do other tasks.

When is BIG Event?

The BIG Event is April 1, 2023 from 10 am-2 pm. Volunteers will meet in Pershing Arena at 10 am and should be at their community sites no later than 11 am.
