For Students:

What is the BIG Event?

The BIG Event is a day of service where the Truman community comes together to complete tasks in the Kirksville community as a way to show our gratitude for the support they give us and to unify the two communities. 

What type of tasks will I have to do?

Community members can request 2-6 students to come for 1-3 hours.

Some inside jobs they could request are:

  • washing windows
  • painting walls
  • cleaning/sweeping

Some outside jobs they could request are:

  • washing windows
  • painting
  • raking leaves
  • trimming trees/hedges
  • gardening

They can also request to have students do other tasks.

When is BIG Event?

Saturday, April 5th 2025. Students will be performing service between 10am and 1pm. Volunteers should expect to arrive at Pershing Arena to check in at 9 am on the the day of the event.

How do I sign up for the BIG Event?
